Mountain Biking Holidays
With over 200km of marked and graded trails on the Aravis massif alone, this area is the business for both recreational and full-on mountain bikers. All levels from easy to lung bursting, high speed firetrails, long single track adventures, technical downhills and everything in between. Combine this with the fantastic attitude of the locals who welcome mountain bikers, the stunning scenery and great weather and you’re onto a winner.
La Clusaz is continuing to make new mountain biking developments. Following the advice of freeride champion, Antonin Lieutaghi, the Ski Patrol and Piste Safety department have succeeded in giving a whole new dimension to the resort’s mountain biking area:
- opening a new chairlift
- creation of a new four cross, as well as a course covering with a vertical drop of more than 790 metres!
- improvement of La Ferriaz trail
- During July and August the main ski lifts are open giving you the choice of taking the easy option, or doing it the hard way.

La Ferriaz Downhill Mountain Bike Trail
Situated at an altitude of 1690 metres, the trail is accessible in 10 minutes thanks to the new Beauregard gondola. It now offers experienced mountain bikers an exceptional course, filled with excitement. At 3.3 kms long, with a vertical drop of 600 metres, the trail combines all of the demanding sections that mountain bike fans will love: bends, man made jumps, even a 30m long suspended bridge, which is a bit unnerving even with the safety netting! All in an exceptional setting amongst forests and high mountain pastures.
La Grenêche downhill
La Grenêche downhill speed trail is also for experienced mountain bikers. At 2700 metres long, with a vertical drop of 400 metres, many thrills are in store: 19 bends through the trees and the meadows, starting out from the top of the Crêt du Merle chair lift.
