Where is the Last Resort?

We're based in the Aravis mountains in the Northern French Alps only an hour from Geneva which offer almost everything to do with wintersports. The resorts of La CLusaz and Le Grand Bornand give access to over 230km of piste, miles of hidden off piste - and best of all you can order a beer in FRENCH!!!.

Click here for a location map. For full details of the area click on the "Ski Holidays" or "Snowboard Holidays" links in the menu on the left of this page.

Why the Last Resort?

If you mean why are we called "the Last Resort" - it's a long story involving a pub, an Indian meal and an advertising deadline!

If you mean why come to the Last Resort, well - we could spout a load of marketing spiel but here are the hard facts:

  • We've been here since 1997
  • 80% of our clients come back - currently the record is 15 weeks
  • The owners Ali & Al are always on hand to sort out any problems (fortunately we're hardly ever needed)
  • Our small but dedicated team are all seasoned ski holiday professionals and between us we have over 28 years experience to call on.

What's the Skiing Like?

Brilliant - well what do you expect us to say! The area really is suited to all levels and ideal for groups of mixed ability. There are 230km of piste, a modern integrated lift system and you'll rarely see a queue. For more advanced skiers and boarders there are also many offpiste options and some very challenging black runs. Grand Bornand is ideal for beginners with it's extensive and user friendly nursery slopes you can be skiing all over the mountain in no time.

La Clusaz's extensive linked area offers more challenging reds, blacks and offpiste for more experienced skiers and the Balme "Playground"  is a must for both boarders and off piste skiers.

What type of accommodation is on offer?

We have a luxury catered chalet, plus a number of superb self catered chalets and apartments. All of the accomodation is well maintained and spacious and has been individually checked by us.

How flexible are your holidays?

Totally - choose your own start and end dates, catered or self catered, drive or fly - it's up to you to choose a la carte.

How do we get there?

Either drive - we can offer you excellent deals on P&O ferry crossings or fly to Geneva. Many low cost airlines now fly to Geneva from all parts of the UK and BA along with many of the other big airlines now offer some good deals. We will pick you up from the airport in our Luxury minibus or 4x4 and you will be in your accommodation in under 1 hour.
