A great alternative at holiday periods when flights are hard to come by or if you prefer the flexibility of having your own vehicle.

We can arrange ferry crossings for you with P&O Ferries on their Dover/Calais and Hull/Zeebrugge routes. Dover/Calais ferries run around the clock and the crossing time is about 75 minutes. On board facilities include shops, restaurants and bars. Relax in style in the Club lounge for a small supplement.

It's an easy 8-hour drive on the usually quite autoroutes from Calais to St Jean de Sixt and not much longer from Zeebrugge.

Self drive ski and snowboard holidays on P and O ferriesThe Hull/Zeebrugge route gives you the advantage of a good nights sleep on the crossing and saves hours of driving if you live in the North. It’s also surprisingly good value in the Winter. Depending on the number of people travelling, driving can be an economical alternative to flying, and gives you the option of travelling around and extending your stay.

Driving to the Alps

Self drive ski holidays in France couldn't be easier. We will send you easy to follow directions from Calais to our door. French motorways are so well maintained and much quieter than in the UK so none of the M25 nose to tail grind.

The motorways are kept clear of snow as are the mountain roads but you may need a set of snowchains if you arrive in a snowstorm.

Our advice is to buy them here as even at motorway services they're much cheaper than in the UK and you can call us for a snow report enroute to see if you will need them.

We strongly advise you to take out breakdown insurance with either Greenflag, the AA or RAC as if you do have a problem they will make sure it doesn't ruin your holiday.

Dover Calais Ferry Crossing

For the Dover/Calais crossings there are no time restrictions all you have to do is choose a preferred sailing time. If you miss it they will put you on the next available boat and if you're early you can usually get on an earlier ferry. Ferries run around the clock, up to every half-hour, and the crossing time is about 75 minutes.

As an extra treat you can opt for a club class upgrade and enjoy the comfort of the separate lounge with complimentary tea and coffee plus a glass of champagne. All for and extra £10 per person.

Hull Zeebrugge Ferry Crossing

Save the long haul through traffic in the UK, arrive at Hull at 6pm on a Friday evening and spend a relaxing night aboard the Cruiseferry to arrive at 8am on the continent. Zeebrugge is only about 20 minutes further than Calais on the motorway so you can easily be in the resort for dinner.

There are many cabin options including club class, so we usually provide individual quotes on request.
